IISA Ireland 1K National Championships

The 2019 IISA Ireland 1K National Championships will take place in Wild Water Armagh in January 2019.

Please ensure that you bring with you the original medical form, ECG and qualifying information for registration.
When you arrive at WIld Water, please go to the registration area where you will complete a medical assessment.
Please be reminded that if you are deemed unfit you will not be permitted to swim in the championships.
Please be on time for your allocated slot.
As per the IISA constitution is it essential that you have a second accompany you to registration.

Each entrant must provide the following inorder to be allocated a swim slot:

A qualification swim

A completed IISA Ireland Medical form and ECG

Registered as a member on the IISA website (www.internationaliceswimmingassociation.com)

Available for the slot you are allocated to swim on the race schedule:

 

Once you have registered for the event and payment you will receive an email with further instruction, a medical form and a qualification affidavit form to be completed and returned.

ENTRY the 2019 1K National IISA Championships will open September 2018

This years event fee is £80

 

SWIM WEAR, SAFETY AND RULES

normal swim wear (swimming trunks, swimsuits/bikini) 1 x silicone swim cap and 1 x pair goggles

The 1k national championship is under the rules of the International Ice Swimming Association (IISA): www.internationaliceswimming.com/rules

Each competitor swims on his / her own risk.

 

QUALIFICATION

SAFETY BRIEFING

All competitors must attend the safety briefing.

All competitors start at their own risk.

The organising committee do not take any responsibility for any accidents or personal injury.

 

TIME LIMIT

The time limit of the 1k race is 25 mins.  The race referee will assess each swimmer over this time and decide on their fitness to continue the swim or ask the competitor to leave the water.

 

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open.

Membership of a Swimming Club is not necessary.

With your registration, you certify herewith, that you are in a good healthy position, for swimming in ice-cold water for this distance.   The completion of the IISA Ireland Medical form and evidence of a healthy ECG are essential prerequisites.

The minimum age for an entry is 18 years.

You accept the rules of the International Ice Swimming Association (www.internationaliceswimming.com).

The organising committee reserves the right to exclude participants at every time from the competition.
